A few Fridays ago, I made a homemade almond flour pizza crust from Simple Mills. I love all the products from Simple Mills but I had not tried their grain-free pizza crust before.

Homemade Pizza Night

I love Friday night pizza night. And Thursday night pizza night. Or any night really… But when ordering out, it’s hard for me to order a pizza I can (or should) eat. Maybe you too?

Since I try to avoid both dairy and gluten most of the time, it can be tricky to find a place that makes both gluten-free and dairy-free pizza that tastes good and isn’t full of weird ingredients (soy, corn, fillers, etc.). I’m so glad I finally made my own at home. It’s definitely something I will be doing again soon.

Obviously, it’s very important to start with a great crust when making pizza at home. On a scale of 1 to real pizza, this crust from Simple Mills is at least a 7.

You’re never going to be able to get the doughy texture of pizza made with white flour with almond flour. But if you’re in need of a gluten-free and grain-free crust, you can’t go wrong with this one. It’s made with only 7 ingredients, comes together very quickly, and makes two 8″ pizzas.

Pizza Toppings

Next, the pizza toppings! For our homemade pizza night, my husband and I each made our own pizza so we could dress them up however we wanted. You can see I went the dairy-free route but my husband did not. You can do whatever you like!

I added:

Mr. CK added:

  • Rao’s marinara sauce
  • mozzarella cheese
  • caramelized onions
  • spicy pork
  • hot peppers
  • topped with parmesan cheese

Even if you’re not gluten-free, I would suggest giving this pizza crust a try. It’s so easy to make as you don’t have to worry about letting it rise in a bowl. I mean, who has time for that on a Friday? I know I will be adding this crust to my shopping cart frequently so that I can make a tasty pizza at home more often!
