Earlier this summer I was fortunate enough to meet the founder of Kjaer Weis, Kirsten, at Take Care Shop in DC. She led a master class and taught a room full of women how to do their makeup. To say the evening was magical is an understatement.
Makeup Master: Kjaer Weis
First, Kirsten is a true gem. She is warm, effortlessly beautiful, and instantly made me feel great about myself. And that was before she touched my face!
I loved hearing about her passion for makeup and skincare and how she built this amazing brand. She’s originally from Denmark and, as an aside, her accent is mesmerizing. I could have listened to her talk for hours!
She started her career doing makeup in the fashion world and she said models would request she avoid certain products because they irritated their faces. She began to question the ingredients in common products and set out on a quest to develop and create a brand that performs well while also being good for you.
Kjaer Weis: The Brand
The word that comes to mind when I think about Kjaer Weis is luxury. Everything about this line is luxurious. From the sleek packaging to the creamy consistency of her products, everything feels so well-done.
The price point of Kjaer Weis is admittedly higher than some other natural brands but I can promise you it’s worth it. I’ve used a few Kjaer Weis products here and there over the years, and even though I don’t wear a lot of makeup often, some of her products are ones I keep coming back to.
