Enter Hungry Harvest. Hungry Harvest’s mission is to help eliminate food waste by partnering with farmers, packing houses, and wholesalers to rescue produce and get it to your doorstep.
A few weeks ago, Hungry Harvest reached out to me to ask if they could send me a produce box. Fresh produce shipped right to my door? Ok, twist my arm.
The Produce Box
The process couldn’t be easier. You order online and they have several boxes to choose from, even an organic box! Then they ship your box to you and you get a text when it’s on your doorstep. Boom.
In my box, I had green beans, romaine lettuce, yellow squash, oranges, mini sweet peppers, apples, mini potatoes, and tomatoes. It was perfect for a whole week of meals plus a few days.
I made tacos with the mini sweet peppers, a Caeser salad with the romaine, roasted potatoes with the mini potatoes, and enjoyed the apples and oranges for a snack.
