Cherry Banana Almond Butter Smoothie

I make a smoothie for breakfast almost every day. My love of smoothies started when my husband gave me a Vitamix for Christmas three years ago. The Vitamix was a game-changer for me. (I have the Pro Series 300.)

You definitely don’t need a Vitamix (or a Blendtec) to make a good smoothie, so if you don’t have one, don’t worry! You may just need to blend your smoothie a little bit longer.

I like to switch up my recipe often, but most of my smoothies start with a similar base. I most frequently use almost milk, Earthbound Farm organic mixed power greens, and a frozen banana.

I buy the Earthbound Farm greens in a big bag at Costco and then I freeze the bag when I get home. That way, you don’t have unused greens wilting in your fridge and it helps add one more frozen element to your smoothie.

Here is what I used today:

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup Earthbound Farm organic mixed power greens
  • 1 frozen medium banana
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter
  • 1/2 cup frozen cherries

Throw all the ingredients in the blender and blend! If you’re using a high-speed blender, like a Vitamix, I would add the ingredients in the order that I’ve listed them here. If you’re not using a high-speed blender, I’d suggest adding the almond milk and the greens first and blending those until combined. Then I would add each ingredient separately until they’re each mixed in and well-blended.
