Treat Collection: a great “5-free” nail polish option

A reader asked me recently about nail polish and if I had a brand I’d recommend (hey, girl!). I first tried polishes from Treat Collection because of an Integrity Botanicals blog post.

I was a dedicated OPI user before trying an alternative polish. Admittedly, I haven’t tried many other more natural nail polish brands. But, I can say that Treat polishes last even longer than many OPI shades I’ve worn, and right away I was sold.

Don’t get me wrong, I love gel manicures as much as the next girl. (A writer I love once referred to gel manicures like “a bad boyfriend you just can’t quit.”) And just as I mentioned in my previous post, I try to exchange the products I use most frequently for better options. That means if I get a gel manicure from time to time, I’m not going to freak out about it. But if you’re looking for a better nail polish option, I would definitely recommend checking out Treat Collection!

I own four Treat Collection shades: Black Tie, Drama Queen, Summertime, and Wedding Day. Each shade is unique and all are “5-free”: no dibutyl phthalate (DBP), no toluene, no formaldehyde, no formaldehyde resin, and no camphor.

I love Drama Queen this time of year, it’s the perfect moody deep burgundy. Black Tie is a great classic red. And Wedding Day is what I wear on my fingers year-round as it’s the perfect neutral.

In an effort to provide you with the most accurate information, I want to let you know that some in the green beauty industry are still on the fence about nail polish. Because nail polish needs to include an ingredient that makes the polish adhere to your nail, even the cleanest options have some kinds of chemicals in them. But, if you’re looking to cut out some of the major offenders in nail polish, I think Treat Collection would be a great option for you.
