My Favorite Cold Brew Coffee

My Favorite Cold Brew | Crunchy Kat

This summer, I’ve been making cold brew coffee concentrate every few days.

I’ve tried a few different kinds of beans, but when I was in Cincinnati for a girls trip last month, I picked up some coffee from Coffee Emporium. I got the Guatemala blend, it’s been my favorite so far!

Here is what you’ll need to make your own concentrate:

  • 1 cup of beans (choose your favorite coffee), ground to a sand-like consistency
  • 3 cups of filtered water
  • 32 oz mason jar with a lid (or some other container; I recommend glass)
  • fine strainer, cheesecloth, or mesh nut-milk bag like Ellie’s Best! (use code “crunchykat” for 10% off)
  • another container to catch the concentrate after straining

Steps to brew the concentrate:

  • Grind coffee beans if they are not already ground. (The fresher the grind, the better the coffee will be!)
  • Put ground coffee into the mason jar and cover with water.
  • Let sit for at least 18 hours. I prefer 22-24 hours.
  • Strain concentrate into another container using a fine strainer, cheesecloth, or a mesh nut-milk bag like Ellie’s Best! (use code “crunchykat” for 10% off)
